About Cancun
Little more than twenty years ago, Cancun was just a Mayan name, a deserted, sun-drenched island off the northeast tip of the Yucatan peninsula. Not long after the first hotels opened in the early 1970's, Cancun was well on it's way to international resort stardom.

Cancun is located off the northeast point of Mexico's Yucatan peninsula, directly south of New Orleans, Louisiana, in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. Cancun consists of two distinct parts. The first is an island referred to as the "Hotel Zone". It is separated from the mainland by two narrow canals at it's north and south ends and linked to the mainland via two bridges. The "Hotel Zone" is on this island where the majority of hotels are located. Shaped like the number 7, the outsideof the seven meets the Caribbean, inside the seven is the Nichupte lagoon. The second part of Cancun is the bustling downtown area, known as "El Centro" to the locals, filled with shops and restaurants to fit any taste.

No other place in the Caribbean, or the world, gives you the latest in luxury resorts at the doorstep of the ancient civilizations of the mysterious Maya. Chichen-Itza, Tulum, and Coba all are spectacular examples of the ancient cities. An excursion to one or more of these sites should be on everyone's itinerary - there's no other place on earth like them.

Night Life in Cancun!
You can not find a more fun place to party than Cancun, and you have lots to choose from, the ones I will recommend is Coco Bongo NightClub said to be the best nightclub in LatinAmerica by MTV.
Sr. Frogs is a place where you can enjoy a good meal and have loads of fun, BOOM is the neighbour to Coco Bongo and both Coco and BOOM offer you to drink for free all night if you pay cover-charge.
